WTF? is your story? <-share it w/ congress!

Hey everyone, as I’m sure you’ve all already read, USSA is collecting blogs for the Where’s the Funding campaign.  The subject is pretty open-ended and very relevant to the current congressional budget debate.  We want students to basically tell us what cuts to their financial aid programs would mean to them personally.  We’re especially trying to get testimonials from Pell Grant recipients on what a reduction of $845 in their award amount would mean (this is the proposed cut in the House’s “Continuing Resolution”).

If you receive federal financial aid, or are just very passionate about this subject, please visit http://www.usstudents.org/get-involved/wtf-blogging to blog.

I’ve been in contact with staff from both the Senate appropriations committee and House budget committee who are very committed to uplifting personal stories of students in congressional press.  This could be a great chance for your writing or story to receive wide viewership and make a real difference in higher education legislation.

Please also forward this on to any and all students who you feel would make a meaningful contribution to the USSA WTF message.

Thanks!
