Dream Act update as of right now

Posted on December 9, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized |

It looks like the Senate has just voted to table the vote on the Senate version of the DREAM Act indefinitely. This probably means that they’re going to try instead to get a Senate vote on the version of the bill passed in the House last night. This vote would likely happen sometime next week, so we’ll need to keep making calls regardless.

Things are moving quickly and I just wanted to make sure that you’re all aware of what’s happening. We’ll keep you updated. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Below you will find the urgent information needed for today. How it looks like things are panning out is that Sen. Reid wants to remove the Senate version in order to vote on the House version, which procedurally would make more sense, and gives us a better chance at winning.

Let’s do this, we have a few hours left.

Call for English: 866-587-6101
Call for Spanish: 866-956-3902

These numbers automatically send callers to one of RIFA’s target Senators after a short message about the DREAM Act (which has been updated to reflect last night’s vote):

– Mary Landrieu (LA)

– Kay Hagan (NC)

– Richard Lugar (IN)

– Bob Bennett (UT)

– Lisa Murkowski (AK)

– George Voinovich (OH)

– Susan Collins (ME)

– Olympia Snowe (ME)

– George LeMieux (FL)

– Kay Hutchison (TX)
