President of USSA- We all better VOTE!
Only one day left until the midterm elections! You’ve all been doing such great work registering, educating, and mobilizing students around the vote; this country is about to feel the power of student organizing! USSA students, staff, and officers have spent the last three months on the ground at campuses across the country tirelessly organizing communities. There are several things you can do RIGHT NOW to help amplify the student voice this election:
Submit a letter-to-the-editor to your local paper! Tell your community why you’re voting with one of USSA’s prepared, editable LTEs. Simply type in your zip code, select a paper, review the content, and click send! Send one, two, or all three letters:
- Young people are building a movement of voting (about youth engagement)
- We need student champions in Congress (about the cost of college)
- Voting for the American Dream (about the DREAM Act)
Prepare to VOTE! Obviously, the most important thing you can do this week is vote! Not sure where your polling place is located? Go to the USSA homepage to find out! Questions about voting? Click hereto for answers! Don’t wait until to tomorrow to prepare yourself for voting.
Enter USSA’s Vote Photo Competition! The photo competition seeks to uplift amazing photos from college campuses across the country where students are engaged in electoral action. Whether your an amateur or professional photographer, journalism major, or just interested in snapping photos, be sure to keep the camera clicking during your campus’ vote work and submit the pictures to the USSA photo competition. Again, great work these last few weeks! Now let’s get to the polls and elect a Congress that will help us make education a right!
